  • ORDER FORM

Our order form is split into two parts.

Part 1 : Use the interactive rig designer to select your colors. If you want to duplicate a previous rig or a stock rig, you can skip the interactive rig designer.

Part 2:  Select your options and enter your measurements below.  This form will walk you through the configuration choices.

Nothing selected here is final until we review it, send a confirmation, and it’s approved.  Most people have questions and we are used to incomplete order forms.  Just work your way through the sections as best as you can and put any questions or comments in the additional info boxes. We will help you from there.

After you complete this form you'll need to add it to the cart and checkout for us to be able to see your order.

    * If you are having computer issues or just prefer a paper order form, you can print and email us this form.

If you have not already done so, you can use the interactive rig designer to select your colors.

Piping is a thin accent stripe in between the center flap stripes, main and reserve pin cover.  These accent stripes add distinction throughout the center flap.  Even if it's black piping on back stripes, piping adds a nice finished look.

TIP : After you finish each section,  click on the section header to close it if you want to view only one section at a time.

  • Embroidery Notes

    • Left and right is as you’re wearing the rig.

    • You can place as many standard Mirage logos as you wish for no charge.

    • Pricing for deluxe and custom embroidery is listed where it is available.

    • Attach any example photos you'd like us to use for reference.

    GALLERY

    * Yoke embroidery is required.

These are small Alien outlines.  They can be put on many different flaps - but only on cordura, not on mini-diamond.

If you like the phantoms but don’t want them to dominate your rig, then put them on just centerflap stripes (back) and either handles or ring covers (front).

If you want both phantoms and mini-diamond in your centerflap, put them on alternating stripes.

    Example:  phantoms on cordura A-C-E-G, mini-diamond on B-D-F and maybe 5 & H

This will be the phantom color used everywhere you select 'phantom'.

If you have a digitized file that an embroidery machine can read (.dst), attach it here now or send it to us later at sales@miragesys.com.

If you do not already have the picture you want embroidered in a .dst format, send us as high of resolution photo as possible (.jpg .pdf or .png) and we will have it digitized.  There is a digitization fee based on the stitch count of the artwork.

You will be advised of the fee prior to production.

    • A large ghost is an Alien outline (no fill) at the bottom of the sidewall.  Part of it is hidden in the seams.

    • Falling Aliens are 4 nested Aliens that fade out at the top.

10 characters maximum, including spaces & punctuation, in a single line.

    Harness Size

If you are copying a previous rig, be sure to give us the serial number or container size in the additional notes.

    Serial #

If there is a Mirage that fits you well or that you would like us to use for reference, list its serial # here.

It is helpful, but not required, if you can include a photo of the label.

    General

Ladies, we need your cup size for the yoke & chest strap.

Look in the mirror and don’t be surprised if your legs are slightly long or short; most people are not perfectly proportionate.

    Main Lift Web

It is very difficult to measure yourself accurately, so you will need someone to assist.  Try not to skip any measurements.

    • Measure both left and right as a double check.

    • Measure from the BOTTOM of the hole at the base of your throat, diagonally over your chest, to the very TOP of your hip bone AT YOUR SIDE.

    • The top of the hip bone is approximately the same height off the ground as your belly button.

    • Common mistakes are measuring too low on the hip (too long), or not enough to the outside (too short).

    • A typical measurement would be between 15” (38 cm) and 20” (51cm), with the average being 16-18” (40-45 cm).

    image_torso2.jpg image_torso1.jpg

    • Measure from the base of the throat (same starting point as the Torso measurement), down through the crotch and up your back to the base of the collar (protruding spine bone on the back of the neck).
    • Tape should be snug, but not painful.
    • Stand up straight - you should be at your maximum height.

    image_longgirth1.jpg image_longgirth2.jpg image_longgirth3.jpg image_longgirth4.jpg

Reference Tool : Main Lift Web Measurement

We will adjust the main lift web slightly for your fit preference.

    • A little snug = -.5"
    • Medium = no change
    • A little loose = +.5"

    Leg Pads

    • Measure both left and right as a double check.

    • Take EVERYTHING OUT OF YOUR POCKETS.

    • Measure around the leg, as the leg strap travels, up to the SIDE of your hip bone.  This is usually where your belt is.

    • Be sure to pull the tape SNUG.

    • The measurement should be in the range of 28” – 34” for most people.

    • Leg pad length preference varies from person to person. Some people like their pads to overlap, some like the ends to just touch, and others like a few inches of gap.  All of these are safe as long as you are sitting on the pad and your strap feeds through with at least 5-6 inches of tail.

Tip:  Make sure your leg straps are high and tight when exiting the aircraft.  Movement of leg straps during deployment can cause bruising – remember your student gear?

    Stabilizer (waist)

    • Container size affects the stabilizer calculation.

    • Measure around your waist at your belly button.  This is usually larger than your pant size.

    • Do not pull your stomach in.  Be certain the tape is level.

    • Stabilizers are sized in half inch increments:  +1.5, +1, +.5, std, -.5, -1.  You can usually go up or down one size based on your comfort preference, but not more.  Each increment is similar to loosening or tightening your belt one notch.

TIP:  The Mirage lumbar support elastic is only for comfort.  If you would like your rig to fit tighter against your back we recommend using our small sit fly belly band.  It attaches to your hip rings and can fit in your back pocket when not being used.  We also offer a larger belly band for swooping.

    • Let us know if you have thick shoulders.   This is used to assist in determining yoke extensions.

    • Select only if applicable / desired.

    • +1 or -1 yoke extension means that the distance from the top of the rig to the 3 rings (over the shoulder) was adjusted by 1 inch.  If you need a yoke extension but don’t have one, the rig will feel tight in the shoulders.

We’re happy to help make your rig fit.

If you need assistance with your sizing attach:

    1)  A photo of you standing facing the camera

    • Wear a t-shirt & shorts or jeans (clothes not too baggy)
    • Put feet shoulder width apart
    • 1st hand - pointing at your belly button
    • 2nd hand - hanging comfortably at your side
    • Stand up straight and look forward
    • Head-to-toe needs to be in frame

    2)  A photo of you standing sideways to the camera

    • Turn sideways 90°
    • Pretend you are holding a tray (shoulders normal, elbows still at your side)
    • Look forward, do not turn towards the camera
    • Head-to-toe needs to be in frame

NOTE:   We need to see how long your body is compared to your legs (1st photo) and how thick you are (2nd photo), so please don’t wear jackets, long shirts or low crotch pants.

    • Hip & Chest Rings : Most of the rigs that we build have the Unisyn Hip & Chest Ring Harness. It includes the Mirage 1-Piece Leg Pads that are known for their comfort under canopy. It has the best re-sale value since it is the most popular. This harness is also the least expensive to have adjusted.

    • Hips Rings : The Unisyn Hip Rings Harness is the same as the Unisyn except that it does not have chest rings. It still has the Mirage 1-Piece Leg Pads. This harness has less flexibility at the top of the harness. Be aware that this harness is more expensive to have adjusted than the Unisyn with chest rings.

    • Hips Rings : The Low Hip Ring Harness with Split 2-Piece Leg Pads is our previous (G3) harness. The hip rings are below the stabilizer and the stabilizer is stiffer. These leg pads are straight; contoured is not available on split leg pads. You may be familiar with this harness as it is still the standard harness for some manufacturers. Be aware that this harness is more expensive to have adjusted than the Unisyn.

    • Standard : The Standard Harness has no articulation. This harness has the least flexibility. Be aware that this harness is more expensive to have adjusted than any of the articulated harnesses.

    MORE INFO

Stainless steel hardware is standard on all Mirage harnesses.

Black hardware is an available option.

    * Mirage cannot guarantee the finish on black hardware which may wear over time.   The black finish is cosmetic and will not be replaced if it wears or fades.

Type 8 is recommended at 225 lbs (exit weight).
Type 8 is required at 250 lbs (exit weight).

Our standard length is 20".  Most people use this size.

If you have shorter arms you may prefer -2"
If you have longer arms you may prefer +2"
If you have very long arms you may prefer +4" (these will be too long for most people)

    17-25"

    Swoop Loops:

Soft:  The soft swoop loops add a little stiffness to the loop, but not enough to stay open when you take your hands out.

Medium:  The medium swoop loops are our most popular; they stay open and also pack flat.

XFirm:  The x-firm swoop loops do not lay flat when packing; your riser covers will bulge when closed.  These loops are intended for hop & pop swooping.

Large:  The large swoop loops will fit larger hands or thick gloves.  They pack flat.

    Only suggested for competition swooping.

Some colors are limited - they will be removed from the list when not in stock.

The standard Mirage chest strap is approximately 20"

If you know you like a longer chest strap but don't know how much, then choose +4 inches for big chests or +8 inches for swooping.

The deluxe backpad with spacer foam and adjustable lumbar support is standard on the G4.

Attaches to your hip rings.  Easy to remove and store in your gear bag when not in use.

The lumbar support in the Mirage deluxe backpad is designed only for comfort.  If you want your rig to be snugger against your lower back in freefall or to be able to lean out into your swoop, use one of our removable belly bands.

    • Small For Sit-Fly / FreeFly
Small but sturdy!  Small pad with type 17 (thin) webbing.  This is our most popular size.  Great for tightening the bottom of your rig for multi-angle flying.
    • Large For Swoop
Large pad with type-8 (wide) webbing.  Popular for swooping.  Adjustable to your preference.

    * Removable belly bands require hip rings for attachment.

The contoured leg pads are our most popular leg pads.  They are double wide in the saddle, making them more comfortable under canopy, and narrow between your legs for walking comfort.  Only available on Unisyn harnesses.

    * Stainless steel hardware is standard on the Mirage RSL and Trap System MARD.

The Mirage patented Trap System™️ MARD can be packed in any of the following configurations:

    • RSL with MARD  (Trap System)
    • RSL without MARD  (RSL Only)
    • No RSL or MARD

With well over a million jumps on our standard tuck tabs, they are approved for all flying styles.

We also offer the option of magnetic riser covers based on our proven tuck tab design.  Magnetic riser covers have two settings; standard and firm.  They are field replaceable.

Semi-open bottom corners for better wingsuit deployments.

If you plan to start wingsuiting in the future, you can wait and have us do this modification later.  It is easy for us to do and it is better to have standard corners if you are not wingsuiting.

The secondary closing loop option is located in the bottom of the main pack tray in addition to the primary loop location on the bottom flap, allowing the user to choose.

The Mirage collapsible pilot chute is standard on the G4.

    MORE INFO

    * Subject to availability.

Main PC's are made with F-111 per most canopy manufacturer's recommendation.

ZP is available if requested, in limited colors, for an additional charge.

Longer bridle lengths (9' and 12') are for wingsuiting.

    • If you have not yet started to wingsuit but plan to in the future, you should get a standard bridle now and then get a new pilot chute with a longer bridle later.  A longer bridle, when not wingsuiting, can cause harder openings.
    • If you wish to get a second pilot chute now so that you will have it when you are ready to start wingsuiting, then order the standard bridle here and put a note for an additional pilot chute with a wingsuit longer bridle in the notes section.

Limited Life Components

The components of any device tend to wear out after repeated use, and the fabric materials in your Mirage are no exception.  Experience has proven that some fabric components are subject to more wear than others and need to be inspected frequently, and replaced periodically.  These items are considered to be Limited Life Components.

The following Limited Life Components should be checked often and replaced periodically.  The service life of these components is a recommendation based upon experience:

  • Main and Reserve Closing Loops – Replace when frayed.  If in doubt, replace.
  • Main Risers – Type 17 main risers should be replaced every 200 to 400 jumps.  Type 8 risers should be replaced every 300 – 500 jumps.  All Risers: check the Type IIA fabric loops often since they can be easily damaged and are subject to accelerated wear.  Replace risers if Type IIA loops are frayed, or if webbing is damaged.
  • Main Pilot Chute – Replace every 200 to 400 jumps or sooner if damaged or excessively worn.  Handles should not be replaced.
  • Main Deployment Bag – Replace every 300 to 500 jumps or sooner if damaged or excessively worn.
  • Spandex Main Pilot Chute Pouch – Replace when torn or excessively worn.
  • Harness Leg Straps and Chest Strap – Replace when frayed or damaged, or if slipping excessively through hardware adjusters.
  • Reserve Deployment Bag Safety Stow – replace if nylon covering of shock cord is frayed, or if rubber strands inside break.

Authorized Components

The substitution of any of the following components with a component not manufactured by Mirage Systems, Inc. is NOT AUTHORIZED:

  • Reserve parachute deployment bag and bridle (Freebag)
  • Reserve pilot chute
  • Reserve ripcord
  • Reserve static line (RSL)
  • Trap System™️ components (RSL, Trap Line, Main Risers)
