Putting on Your Rig

To ensure maximum comfort, wear it correctly!

Step 1

When putting on your Mirage, first place your arms through the main lift web. The container should be resting on your shoulders. Next, slip the leg straps on, but do not tighten them.

Step 1

Step 2

Thread the chest strap through the friction adaptor behind both pieces. Pull until the slack has been removed and the chest strap lies across your chest. Verify that the chest strap has not been twisted.

Step 2

Step 3

Thread the chest strap back through the friction adaptor. Be sure to wind it around and in front of the separator this time. Pull until the chest strap is securely fastened, without overly tightening. The chest rings should not be drawn together over the chestbone.

Step 3

Step 4

Thread the chest strap through its elastic retainer. This photo illustrates the ideal chest strap fit.

Step 4

Step 5

Tighten each leg strap evenly (either separately or together) until comfortably snugged around the thigh. An uneven leg strap fit may adversely affect canopy flying characteristics!

Step 5

Step 6

Stow the excess leg strap length behind the elastic retainer and into the respective leg pad. Notice that the leg pad ends meet without overlapping when the leg straps are tightened. This photo illustrates the ideal leg strap and leg pad fit.

Step 6

Step 7

If the fit of your leg straps doesn't seem right at first, take one hand and place it on the back of the leg pad, take your other hand and place it on the front of the leg pad, then rotate the leg pad backwards (hardware should be moving towards your hip bone). This places you in a seated position inside the harness. You may need to retighten your leg straps after performing this procedure.

Step 7

Step 8

Ok! Rig and jumper are now one! Comfortably and securely harnessed to your canopy system, you can skydive with confidence.
